The New Latinos: Film Screening and Discussion

The UAB Libraries, UAB Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and Palomitas Spanish and Latin American Film Club will sponsor a film screening and discussion of "The New Latinos (1946-1965)."

The film is part of the PBS documentary series, Latino Americans. This episode of the documentary focuses on Latinos of Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Dominican descent, including Rita Moreno and Julia Alvarez.

Dr. John Maddox, Assistant Professor of Spanish, UAB Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, will lead a discussion of the literature and culture connected with the Hispanic Caribbean.
