RN - General Post- Surgical

Position Description

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. Receives patients from the PACU and OR and sees a wide variety of Post-Surgery Patients. Patients coming to the Post-Surgical unit include GI Surgical Patients, GYN Surgical Patients, Orthopedic Surgical Patients and any patient receiving a procedure that requires more than a 24 hour hospital stay. This unit offers a fast pace, with frequent admits and discharges, the average length of stay is 1 to 2 days.

Position Requirements

REQUIRED: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. 2. Minimum of one (1) years of full-time experience in Med/Surg as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training. 3. Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
